On the eve of graduation
Thursday, March 23rd, 2006Another batch is graduating Friday and Saturday. Being a teacher is all about hello and goodbyes. This Saturday, I say goodbye to 28 DS majors and I don’t think I’ve invested myself in any batch more than I’ve invested in them (Not that I love the other batches less, mind you). Isipin niyo, handling the thesis of 25 of them for a period of one year.
Yesterday I received a call from Stephen, one of those graduating students telling me with sheer joy that he was accepted into Ayala Foundation. It is not the fact that he was accepted into Ayala Foundation that made me happy. It was not even the fact that he called me. It was the fact that he was absolutely ecstatic.
Moments like these make teaching worthwile.
